SUMMARY:American Revolution\, the Augmented Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Tickets are on sale now for the Charlotte Museum of History’s most ambitious exhibition ever\, American Revolution\, the Augmented Exhibition\, opening April 14\, 2026. Developed by Histovery in partnership with the Museum of the American Revolution\, this national exhibition uses cutting-edge augmented reality and interactive 3D recreations to immerse visitors in the defining moments of 1763–1789. Using Histovery’s patented HistoPad tablet\, guests can explore events such as the Boston Tea Party\, the Constitutional Convention\, and the Battle of Yorktown\, while visiting historic Boston\, Philadelphia\, and New York and learning about the diverse individuals who shaped America’s founding. The Charlotte Museum of History is the only venue in the Carolinas to host the exhibition\, which will travel nationwide through 2031 as part of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. \nThe exhibition is especially meaningful at the museum’s historic site\, home to the 1774 Alexander Rock House and its original owner\, Hezekiah Alexander\, a Revolutionary statesman and framer of North Carolina’s first Constitution and Bill of Rights. Recently designated a site of statewide historic significance—one of only ten properties in North Carolina to hold this rare distinction—the Rock House underscores the region’s deep Revolutionary roots. In addition to the national exhibition\, the museum will feature a dedicated gallery on the Revolution in the Carolinas\, highlighting stories such as Captain Jack’s ride to Philadelphia and pivotal victories at King’s Mountain and Cowpens. Tickets are available now at charlottemuseum.org/america250.

SUMMARY:Asia and Asians in the 18th Century Mid-Atlantic
DESCRIPTION:Asia was known for centuries in Europe\, and the British were keen to profit off the exotic goods through commerce. This trade was far from a one-sided exchange\, it was a dialogue between two very distinct cultures. Goods\, ideas and people flowed through trade routes established by the British East India Company and reached as far as the 13 colonies (soon\, the nascent United States). Asians arrived as distant foreigners in a strange land\, but left an indelible mark that has only recently been uncovered through careful research and revisiting overlooked documents. \nAbout the Speaker: Daniel J. Sieh is a Living Historian with over 13 years of experience working with historical museums throughout the East Coast. Previously\, Daniel has worked at Colonial Williamsburg and later on at Claudemoore Colonial Farm as one of their historical interpreters. He graduated with a History degree from the College of William and Mary in 2016 and has a Master’s degree from American University.
