Step into Charlotte’s Past with Hands-On History

Calling all homeschool families and co-ops! Join us for a special field trip-style experience designed just for you. CMH Homeschool Day offers hands-on, drop-in learning focused on Charlotte’s early history, the Carolina Backcountry, and the American Revolution.

  • Explore the 1774 Rock House, Springhouse, and Tobacco Barn on the historic Alexander homesite

  • Watch 18th-century cooking in the Log Kitchen

  • Enjoy live music and guided tours

  • Explore 18th-century games, crafts, and interactives from local history, educational, and community organizations at activity tables throughout the homesite

Perfect for K–12 students and their families, this program brings the past to life through crafts, games, and educational fun—all in a relaxed, come-and-go format.
