Β Olde Meck Genealogy Society β June 10 MeetingΒ
Join us on Wednesday, June 10 at 7:30 p.m. ESTΒ for an informative presentation by genealogist Karen FortinΒ on:
Online Book Websites for Genealogy
A wealth of genealogically relevant material has been published over the decades β from family and county histories to transcripts, abstracts, and rare record collections. Fortunately for researchers, many of these valuable publications have now been digitized and made available online through both free and subscription websites.
Karen will guide us through some of the most useful online book resources for genealogists, including:
- Google Books
- FamilySearch Digital Library
- HathiTrust
- Internet Archive
- And other hidden gems for family historians
Whether you are searching for local histories, early biographies, church records, or obscure family references, this presentation will help you discover new ways to uncover information you may never have known existed.
We are currently meeting via the ZOOM web conference platform on the second Wednesday of each month. Visitors are welcome to join as early as 7:00 PM (Eastern) for some informal social time. A brief business meeting begins at 7:30 pm, followed by the presentation for the evening. Meetings feature speakers and programs related to family history and genealogy research. The meetings generally are one hour long and most have an open Q&A session for the speaker afterwards.
